Do these two look familiar?! It’s time to share the celebration (part ii!!) of Nikki + John! This time, I am sharing this wedding reception at the Wright House in downtown Tucson!

Nikki + John originally reached out to me in 2019 (I think?! It’s been so long now!) They were planning a wedding for November of 2020. Well, we all know how that year turned out, so their plans had to change. These two decided to elope in Sea Ranch, California with a very small group of friends.

They chose to elope on their original wedding date (which was also their 10 year anniversary!) They then decided to have a wedding reception in 2021 back in Tucson with all their family and friends. Enter their Wright House Tucson wedding reception:

The Couple

Nikki + John are the best kind of people; both to work with and to spend time around. They value simple things like tight knit family + friends, good food, beautiful music, beauty in nature and in architecture and discuss all this goodness and more around a beautiful table. I felt so trusted by them. They allowed me the freedom to capture them naturally and joyfully.

Their unique Tucson wedding venue

The couple gathered their friends and family to celebrate at this unique Airbnb venue in Tucson called the Wright House. Tucson blessed us with kind weather in August (thank you, monsoon season!) and Nikki, John and their guests enjoyed dinner, toasts, and merriment under a beautiful Tucson sky.

Nikki and John’s love, partnership and commitment to each other is so evident. Their elopement was, of course, beautiful. It gave me the opportunity to hear about them as a couple from their own mouths. Though, this time, I was able to hear about the two of them from their close family and friends. Toasts and speeches are one of my favorite parts of a wedding for this reason. I get the privilege of learning your story from the people who have walked alongside you as you’ve written it. It’s a joy to hear it and capture all the emotion is brings out of my couples and their families. It makes some of the sweetest photos.

I am continually grateful for couples like Nikki and John who trust me enough to enter into their lives. It was an incredible honor to spend their elopement with them and their wedding reception at the Wright House in Tucson.
