Tamar and Adam had a Marvelous Mrs Maisel themed wedding in Phoenix, Arizona! As soon as I read their inquiry in my inbox, I knew I had to photograph their wedding.

T + A’s wedding day, though filled with so much color and joy and whimsy, was about so much more than the details or theme. The depth of their day was about honoring their family and celebrating fun and life-giving traditions. It was about celebrating what it looks like when two people who love each other well also come from a community that loves each other well. I left this wedding feeling so full of all the best feels. It was truly a wedding where I had to pinch myself. “I get to do this!” I am trusted by these couples to photograph their most special day. This role is an honor that I do not take lightly.

The couple got ready separately but with the most fun wedding party by their sides. I watched as Tamar put on her gorgeous tea length dress from Luv Bridal and all her bridesmaids gushed over how amazing she looked. There were huge laughs and big smiles and a couple happy tears.

Adam brought out his signature huge grin and laugh for the first look. I was definitely tearing up and laughing behind the camera, too. We then enjoyed fun and lively wedding party photos. The friends that these two keep around them are just funny and kind and uplifting. Tamar’s bridesmaids were constantly hyping her up, keeping her laughing, and bringing so much levity to the day. I gave everyone a prompt to do a “group hug” around the couple and their wedding party ran with it and brought their absolute best!

A Jewish Ketubah signing and ceremony came next. I have been privileged to photograph quite a few Jewish ceremonies in the past few years and this one is probably one of the most memorable. Tamar’s grandfather presided over the ceremony and the couples received blessings from different members of their family. It was really beautiful to witness.

In line with the Mrs. Maisel theme, the toasts at Tamar and Adam’s wedding were comedic roasts from their friends and comedian MC. It was hilarious to hear the toasts and see their reactions! These two and their family and friends danced the night away under the stars in downtown Phoenix.

Like I said above, I felt so full leaving their wedding. It was such pleasure to meet and get to know two people who are so kindhearted and others-focused. They care about the happiness and comfort of the people around them and it was such a pleasure to see them receive back so much of the love they give.
