Taylor and Grant’s El Rancho Robles wedding was one for the books! This couple is, in their own words, people people. Every time we met to chat about their wedding the emphasis was on having fun, spending time with their close friends and family and capturing that. They didn’t care about all the fluff.
When I arrived at El Rancho Robles Guest Ranch, I immediately noticed Taylor’s friends out on their gorgeous green lawns. They were enjoying games and pool time before the festivities began. All of the couple’s friends and family stayed at the venue for the weekend. I love when couples choose to do this because it allows extra time to catch up and make memories. Plus, it was so fun to photograph.
Taylor and her bridesmaids are all ballerinas. It was so fun to see them helping each other get ready before the wedding because I could imagine this was not the first time they had done this. They each helped one another with their hair, gave opinions on makeup and jewelry and gushed over Taylor as she put on her gorgeous wedding dress from J Bridal Boutique.
Taylor and Grant chose to see each other before their wedding ceremony. We kept their first look casual and non performative. Grant had the biggest grin on his face as he saw Taylor walking up to him. They are such silly and sweet people so that made them even more fun to photograph. The gorgeous green lawns and architecture of the venue added to the beauty even more.
The couple’s wedding party was wearing the most fun orange dresses and bright blue suits! I, of course, love anytime a couple leans into the color and I think the choices contrasted perfectly against the green of El Rancho Robles. I put on some music on my bluetooth speaker and we had a fun and stress-free photo experience with Taylor, Grant and their people!
These two celebrated their marriage in the grove of trees and beautiful lawn of El Rancho Robles. Taylor and Grant’s officiant, a close friend of theirs, had one of the funniest speeches about photography/taking photos during the ceremony. Before it went underway, the officiant asked the guests to kindly put away their phones and cameras. He then went into a huge speech about the specs of my cameras and how they were better than anything you could take with your Iphone, etc. It was one of the funniest and most entertaining ways I’ve seen a couple enforce a “no phone” policy during the ceremony.
After the wedding ceremony, Taylor and Grant spent some of the gorgeous golden hour light taking photos around the property at El Rancho Robles. They had to include their best buddy, Polar, for pictures too. Enjoy the sweetness below.
As the sun began to set and the light was glowing, Taylor, Grant, and their family and friends enjoyed a gorgeous cocktail hour under the trees. Polar the pup joined for some fun as the couple talked and laughed with their guests. They entered their reception to enjoy their gorgeously crafted first dance and a homestyle meal. The night ended with speeches that made everyone laugh and an amazing dance floor. Grant, who has DJed in the past, even got on the DJ booth and spun some songs! It was hilarious and such a fun dance floor to be apart of.
Thank you, Taylor and Grant! It was such a joy to photograph their wedding and I’m so thrilled they enjoyed having me too. Here are some kind words Taylor and Grant shared about their wedding photography experience with me:
Meredith did a PHENOMENAL job capturing our wedding day! We did quite a bit of research into wedding photographers and choose Meredith specifically for her colorful, playful style and her ability to capture so much authentic joy in her photos and that is exactly what she gave us in our wedding photos! Not only are we beyond thrilled with out photos, but we also appreciated her goofy, upbeat and relaxed energy throughout the day. Thank you Meredith!Taylor and Grant
