In honor of their first anniversary, I’m excited to share Wendy and Miles’ destination wedding at Tanque Verde Ranch in Tucson, Arizona.
After finding my name through Tanque Verde Ranch, Wendy called me to inquire about having me photograph her wedding. Seeing a phone number I didn’t know, I didn’t answer the call. Thank goodness she left a super kind voicemail and I IMMEDIATELY called her back. When the three of us met up together, I learned that Wendy and Miles, during the pandemic traveled around to live in different cities. They fell in love with Tucson and decided then wanted to get married here.
Tanque Verde Ranch is the perfect venue to host a wedding if you want to show off the beauty of the desert to out of town guests. This is exactly what happened and I’m thrilled I could photograph these joyful and kind people.
The couple started their weekend with a welcome barbecue complete with cowboy outfits, delicious food, and an amazing cactus themed cake by Ambrosia Cakes. I love that Wendy and Miles invited me to come too. This was the perfect opportunity to take some photos together before the wedding and get to know their family and friends. I always recommend this because it allows your guests to get to know me as the photographer and allows for more natural candid photographs to be taken.
The wedding day started with Wendy and Miles exchanging gifts with each other and with their parents. I always love witnessing couples honor their parents of their weddings days. It’s always a moment of joy and beautiful emotion. As I was photographing in and out of the wedding suites, I walked on on Wendy and her sisters singing Hamilton at the tops of their lungs. It was so pure and funny and representative of their relationship. As Wendy put on her wedding dress with the help of her mom, she was surprised by all of her cousins and family coming in to wish her well and see her in her wedding garb. It was such a sweet moment and I loved seeing all of their colorful dresses!!
Wendy and Miles chose to see each other before their ceremony. Individually, the two of them are so joyful and smiley and together it’s on another level of happiness. We were all giggling and smiling so big behind the camera lens!
The day continued with Wendy and Miles’ beautiful wedding ceremony at the Barn at Tanque Verde Ranch. Can you see why this is such a gorgeous spot to show off the beauty of the desert?! There were even more smiles and tears amongst the saguaros and under the deep blue desert sky. After their ceremony, the couple was serenaded by a mariachi band. They hugged and celebrated with their family and friends during cocktail hour and enjoyed a stunning desert sunset before the reception began.
The day ended with an amazing wedding reception! Wendy and Miles performed an outstanding and choreographed first dance! Their enjoyed different dance and reception activities honoring their different cultural traditions and of course we had to end the night with shots! What an amazing couple to spend a wedding weekend with! I’m so grateful for these two – they truly are examples of reasons why I love what I do!
Thank you so much for viewing Wendy and Mile’ destination wedding at Tanque Verde Ranch in Tucson! These are the type of people I LOVE working with and I’m so glad they felt the same way about me. Here are the kind words they sent me after photographing their wedding:
“Meredith perfectly captured the magic of our wedding weekend.
Her photographer eye is phenomenal, her energy is unmatched, and her colorful approach is truly one of a kind.
From our first phone call, Meredith was a joy to work with. She got to know every important detail about us as a couple. And this intentionality of connecting with us shined through in every photo she snapped.
Throughout our wedding day, Meredith was communicative to make sure we had what we wanted. Even small things like, “We have X minutes left of cocktail hour, are there any other shots you want?” Meredith had lists of all the pictures she needed and worked through them efficiently throughout the day. She contributed to the atmosphere of our “getting ready” room by keeping the energy high with music. Meredith and her second shooter were with me throughout the wedding; weaving in and out between capturing candids and organized group pictures that we wanted. It’s true that you should hire a wedding photographer that you feel comfortable spending a lot of time with and Meredith was the most FUN hype woman.
Meredith also created a photos schedule that matched our preferences. We shared that it was important to us to spend time with our guests and not be whisked away for photos all the time – Meredith struck the perfect balance so that we enjoyed our wedding, and now get to look back on hundreds of amazing and special pictures.
On top of her core photography talent, Meredith helped us in so many other parts of the wedding process. She is very well connected to the Arizona wedding market and referred us to other vendors that matched our style. She was also one of the most prepared people at the wedding with everything from bobby pins to Kleenex.
If all of this isn’t enough, our family and friends loved Meredith as well. Besides the process of working with Meredith, most importantly our photos ARE PERFECT. They truly capture our energy as a couple. We received them all on time and even some previews right after our wedding.
Meredith Amadee Photography was one of the BEST wedding investments we made!”
