Eric and Tanya and their magical Desert Botanical Garden wedding in Phoenix, Arizona.

What a joy it was to be present for this couple’s wedding. I’ve known Tanya since high school, we grew up together in the same church youth group and it’s been an absolute pleasure watching her grow and learn more about herself.

Eric and Tanya are an incredible couple. Along with Eric’s daughter Zoey, they make such a beautiful, intentional and compassionate family. These two have helped themselves with a lot of life changes and challenges and come out stronger, even more self assured. Watching the way they care for themselves and show compassion for each other is inspiring.

Eric and Tanya got ready in their family home and had a relaxed morning together and with their friends. They held hands as Tanya got her hair braided. Eric was even the one to zip Tanya’s gorgeous wedding skirt. The day continued at the Desert Botanical Garden where we all laughed and sweated a little bit in the warm March sun. I was obsessed with all the color of the Garden and was thrilled that the Chihuly glass exhibit was open at the time. It made for even more funky and colorful photos which was perfectly fitting for this wedding.

Tanya and Eric shared a beautiful ceremony with a rope fastening tradition. It concluded with in a heart-warming family hug to solidify themselves as a new family. This couple is a big fan of music festivals so, instead of a lot of the “traditional” reception activities, spending the time dancing to their favorite music was most important. The dance floor was kept alive by such a fun DJ, DJ Breezy (a true Pedro Pascal doppelgänger!)
