Kari + Scott’s Desert Botanical Garden engagement session in Phoenix, Arizona!

I was so excited when these two suggested photographing here as it was my first time and I had been dreaming about photographing among the beautiful cacti and plant life and color of this garden! I love that K + S matched their clothes so well to their surroundings and didn’t shy away from color (yes, please!)

Kari and Scott met on a dating app when they were both grad students at ASU. Their first dates together included enjoying local breweries, enjoy the outdoors and cooking food together (three good things!) As they’ve blended their life together they’ve adopted a tiny 10 year old Chihuahua named Stella. I had the pleasure of meeting Stella recently and, though she adopts the “no new friends” policy (respect), she looked freaking cute lounging in a little fanny pack around Kari’s waist. (Cue tears!)

These two enjoy the outdoors and adventuring and are getting married at Scott’s parents home in Tucson and I’m so excited to celebrate with their families in their backyard, desert infused wedding!
