Angela + Chris has a colorful, COVID safe Phoenix backyard wedding.
These two were put through the ringer by COVID. With rescheduled dates, venues, cut guest lists and letting go of wedding dreams, Angela and Chris still had a beautiful and joy-filled wedding day. They exchanged vows surrounded by their closest people in Angela’s childhood backyard. It was colorful, warm and full of tears and (mask covered) big smiles and laughs. We photographed their bridal portraits and family photos nearby at Lake Pleasant with such a gorgeous view in the desert. Angela was such a joyful bride; helped by her sisters and childhood friends to get ready and prepare for the big day while Chris and his groomsmen ate Hungry Howie’s and split a beer to toast his marriage. I loved watching both of their faces light up when they saw each other and as they interacted throughout the afternoon.
My favorite part of the day was probably their vows: listening to all the special things that led them to each other and what keeps them together now. During the vows, Angels shared a special memory of the two of them dancing around their house to “Feel it Still” by Portugal and the Man while brushing their teeth one night and knowing they were perfectly matched.
These two are both so creative and adventure loving. Angela MADE her wedding cake. Just look at it. It’s amazing and mouth watering. She also made the table decor and together they made the custom beer that they gave to their guests.
This wedding is truly proof that you can have an amazingly special day even in the midst of a pandemic (and Arizona heat). It was a pleasure to be apart of.
